There’s No “I” in Church

Listening to the sermon a few weeks ago made me think about the way the church body should work together.

We all need to lean on others throughout different times and situations throughout our lives. I recently started a new job that requires a lot of work. I work with a couple of people in my classroom and each person has unique talents to bring to the table. When everyone works together it takes some of the burden off of one person and makes day to day responsibilities less stressful.

Within the church body there are so many unique individuals with different abilities and talents. It’s our job as a follower of Christ to use the talents he gave us for bringing others to Him and supporting the church body as a whole, working towards one purpose together.

I have found that it can be difficult to let go of the reigns a little, but in the long run it creates a better environment and more productive atmosphere with one specific goal in mind. Letting go of the reigns at work has taken a lot of weight off my shoulders. I believe the same thing can be applied to church. The whole saying, “There is no I in team” could be “There is no I in church.”
