After Moses died, God spoke these words to Joshua as they prepared to enter the promised land, a place of great hope, great fear, and great obstacles.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
Much has happened since that day. Not the least of which is God entering this world as a man to provide a way to the ultimate promised land for us, today.
Still these words resound in a people that continue to face great hope, great fear, and great obstacles.
12 years ago, Journey began as a community of faith for a courageous people with a courageous goal.
Today, we are still a courageous people with what may be an audacious goal.
Starting this Sunday, we will be spending the next few weeks remembering we’re we’ve come from and will press forward to where God is taking us. It will be fraught with obstacles and fear but also great hope.
You are a child of God and you are meant to live life strong and courageous.
Make it a point to be there and to invite someone to come with you!
