Have you ever thought about how we ended up with the story of our Savior?  God preserved His story through people like us.  The “Great Commission” is not one of God’s plans, but it is God’s plan to reach to world:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:16-20 (ESV)

Sometimes I think, “I’m His plan? Uh… no pressure right?”  But it’s true, without men and women who were persecuted and died for what they believed, I may not know Jesus at this very moment.   So let’s fast-forward another 2,000 years.  How are people of that time supposed to know about this Jesus guy if we do not tell and preserve the story?  Sure they could find a Bible, wipe the dust that’s been collecting on most of our Bibles or find one of those ancient iPhones with YouVersion installed, but only if we preserve those things.

God’s plan of redemption for all people needs to be heard and we are his plan.  This is stated again in verses from this week:

“and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men[a] who will be able to teach others also […] The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful” – 2 Timothy 2:2,11-13 (ESV)

We must make Disciples of Christ; we must spread the Good News.  We must. Be a light to those around you, influence them.  Don’t be “holier than thou;” show them that you are just like them: a broken person in need of a Savior. Tell them your story.

In conclusion for the daily blog posts for this series, I wanted to include a song (I have to meet my quota as worship pastor).  This song is all about our faith not being just this personal, keep-it-to-myself life.
