From Journey’s beginning over 10 years ago, we have consistently worked to provide a top notch and effective children’s ministry that would teach our kids about the love of Christ and partner with their parents as they raised their own children.
Today, our children’s ministry comprises our largest investment of time and volunteers as we continue to watch our kids grow and welcome new children into our faith community.
Over these past 10 years, we have been blessed with 2 incredible directors that have invested in volunteers, parents, and children each week, Deidra Love and Christie Crowe.
Deidra is currently serving as the Children’s Director and has done so for most of the past 10 years. She and several of our other leaders have been praying for the next generation of leader to take the baton and continue outstanding ministry opportunities for our church.
After much time praying and searching for someone that might fill this important role, Deidra, along with our elders, are proposing one of our own young mothers to take over as the next Children’s Director of Journey Kidz!
Natalya Ables, along with her husband Glenn and their 2 beautiful daughters, Edith and Abigail, have been actively attending, serving, and investing in our church for some time. We have watched them get involved, form new friendships, jump into the deep end of serving in our children’s ministry, go above and beyond anything that has been asked of them, and watch them parent with grace.
After several conversations we believe that Natalya is the person that God wants to use to begin our next 10 years in incredible ministry to the many young families that call Journey home as well as new families we have yet to meet.
As an elder-led church, our elders are tasked with presenting the candidate that we believe is the right fit.
As a congregation, we ask you to affirm or deny that candidate during a worship service. Many of you already know Natalya and Glenn, but this Sunday, June 24th, we will be formally proposing her for this position. She will be sharing her testimony and her hopes for Journey Kidz moving forward, and we will take a vote by a show of hands.
If you call Journey home, please make every effort to be present for this important time in our church family.
May God move among our families in ways that we can only imagine.
See you Sunday!
Pastor Mark
