One of the miraculous effects of becoming a disciple of Jesus is the opportunity to see things differently. Seeing things as Jesus sees will always change our focus in life. It’s not hard to notice that our culture beleives our life focus should be on ourselves. We are constantly encouraged to promote ourselves and worry about others if we have any time or resources left over.

Jesus, of course believed in quite the opposite. We should concern ourselves with Him and the welfare of others.

It goes against our natural mindset but opens us up to the opportunity to experience the Kingdom of God, here and now.

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. – Colossians 3:2–3 (ESV)
