So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 (ESV)
In His image.
Let that sink in.
You are created in the image of God, Himself.
As we walked through Genesis 2 last weekend, we discovered that this did not change even after Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 9:5–6, James 3:8–9).
Not only do you share this image, but so does everyone that you come in contact with.
Yes, even the people that you can’t stand.
Sometimes it takes more effort to see this in others, but Jesus reminds us that He sees it in us.
God sees more in each of us than we see even in ourselves.
Let that sink in.
God sees more in the people that we have written off.
God sees more in those that doubt their value in the world.
God sees more in the screw-ups and the misfits.
God even sees more in you.
As we continue to explore the first 11 chapters of Genesis, I hope you will take the time to recognize that God has a high regard for you and his hopes for you.
I also hope you will take the time to seek to find that piece in others that bears His image, too.
You are made in His image, and He still plans to change the world through you!
