Tenebrae: A Service of Shadows
Maundy Thursday
Tenebrae Service
Thursday, April 6th @ 6:30pm
Join us for a special Tenebrae service on Thursday, April 6th at 6:30pm. Tenebrae means darkness and it is often celebrated on either Silent Wednesday, Maundy Thursday or Good Friday to remember Jesus’s sacrifice for us on the cross. Jesus is the light of the world but for a very brief time, the darkness thought it had overcome it. This is a reflective service to remember the events of Good Friday and to prepare for a celebration on Easter Sunday when the light conquers the darkness forever!
This year, we will be celebrating this service with some of our sister churches in Red Bank at Journey Church in our Event Hall. We are planning a very special service “in the round” where we celebrate the end of Lent and prepare our hearts for Easter. It will be an incredibly meaningful service to share with our church family and our sister churches so we hope you will join us and bring a friend or two!
