Be our guest Sundays @ 10:30!

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by Journey on the interwebs! We hope that you can be our guest during one of our worship experiences to experience fresh worship, new friends, and relevant teaching from the Bible.  Our desire as a church is to live as devoted followers of Jesus and lead others to do the same.  Here is a top 10 list on what to expect on your first visit and how to make it stress free if you would like to experience Journey for yourself.  See you soon!

1. When do I show up?

We have one worship experience each Sunday at 10:30.  Journey isn’t a big place so arriving 5-10 minutes early is enough time to grab some coffee and a snack and find a great seat in our worship auditorium.  If you are checking in children from babies to 5th grade, 10 minutes early is a good rule of thumb.

2. How do I get there?

We meet in a renovated warehouse located at 5706 Hwy 153 in Hixson.  Its beside Walmart and directly behind Aaron’s Furniture.  Just look for the Journey signs on the road!  Click here for a map and directions.

3. What do I wear?

You’ll find that we’re pretty casual – shorts, jeans, t-shirts, slacks, dresses – it’s all good. You won’t find many suits and ties though, but if that’s what you’re comfortable wearing, go for it.

4. What about parking?

There is usually plenty of parking in Journey’s parking lot including 2 handicap spaces.  If that is full, volunteers will wave you over to our overflow parking in the Walmart parking lot directly beside the warehouse.  It’s only a few feet from our front door!

5. Where do I go once I arrive?

No children?(or, if you want to keep your children with you.) Go directly to our worship auditorium.  Greeters will be glad to assist you and answer any questions you might have.  Journey shares the warehouse with Alicia’s School of Dance which is in the front part of the building.  Just follow the hallway and you will end up in the auditorium!

Along the way, you will have a chance to stop by our “Resources” tables to pick up a free Bible, Bible reading plans, or other free resources that are available.  At the “New Here” table, feel free to pick up any information about Journey or some swag.  It’s all our gift to you!

Have children? You will pass our creative children’s environments on the way to the auditorium.  In the main hallway, stop by the Journey Kidz! check in table to ask any questions about our Kidz! ministry and check your children in.  It takes less than 5 minutes and ensures that your kids are safe and secure.

6. Worship Service:

While you’re in service, we’d appreciate it if you’d fill out a Connection Card so we know you were here. You can drop it in the offering as it goes by as your gift to us. Don’t feel obligated to give – let this first service be our gift to you (but we would appreciate getting your Connection Card).

7. Why are there earplugs available?

You will find that we use many different styles of worship usually including a full band.  We value passion and honesty and worship and from time to time it can get a little loud for some.  Earplugs are available for you if the volume becomes a distraction in your own personal worship.

8. No Expectations.

As a visitor you won’t be singled out in any way. You can remain completely anonymous if you want. But don’t be surprised if you can’t make it out the door without people greeting you and trying to make you feel welcome and at home.

9. Want more information?

If you are interested in learning more about Journey or getting involved, just mark that on the communication card and someone will contact you! We would love for you to be part of the community at Journey.

10. Growing Smaller.

The best way to become involved in authentic relationships at Journey is to be part of a Journey Group.  They are small groups of people that meet in different locations around the city to do life together.  It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and grow deeper in your faith.  For more information, stop by the “New Here” table for more information about getting involved!
