Every Choice Matters More Than You Know

Discipleship

It’s true.
Every single choice you make means more than you could possibly imagine because every choice is an opportunity to please God and glorify Him.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)

Did you know that every time you make a choice to honor the teachings of Jesus, you bring glory to the Father?
Think about that.

Every time you choose to turn the channel on an inappropriate tv show…
Every time you choose to serve others when all you want to do is collapse on the coach and binge watch Netflix…
Every time you choose to give generously, even though you really want to use those resources for something else…
Every time you choose not to look at something impure on your laptop…
Every time you thank God even though it’s been a rotten day…
Every time you take the path of integrity even though everyone around you is encouraging you to take a shortcut…
Every time you follow the speed limit even though you are late…
Every time you make a choice to live as a royal priesthood, a chosen race, a holy nation, a people for HIS possession, you are proclaiming His excellencies and bringing honor and glory to God!

Some days it is so easy to feel defeated and deflated. Everything seems to be going wrong and we don’t seem to have any hope. Making a simple choice that goes against our tendency to honor ourselves actually honors God and He sees it!

Every time you give a kind word instead of a harsh one, there is rejoicing in heaven.
Every time you choose to read scripture instead of catching up on Facebook, there is rejoicing in heaven.
Every time you share your testimony or the gospel to a friend, there is rejoicing in heaven.

Every single decision you make that follows the teachings of Jesus is recognized and honored by your Father in heaven.

As you seek to change behavioral patterns, God is beaming, not because you are finally being a better person, but because you are saying with your heart, your motives and your actions, that God is more important.

Take courage that every choice you make has the potential to move the very heavens themselves EVEN if no one around you recognizes the impact of what you have just done.

Be encouraged and to God be the glory!
